Don Reich Painting Gallery

Don Reich is an American painter living in Los Angeles, California.  Don began painting over a decade ago, at first working on large scale abstract oils and mixed media and later developing a passion for portraiture.  His artistic work history began over 25 years ago in the animation industry where he still works designing composition for animated feature films.  In response to the more structured technology of his animation career, painting became an outlet to explore more personal creative styles.  His work now hangs in homes around Los Angeles and also on the East Coast where he was born.  Don works from his home studio where he and his husband Frankie both paint and work.

Don's abstract paintings are designed to evoke feelings of nature abstracted.  Using light, color and form they conjure imaginary spaces defined more by mood and form than by reality.  Many of his paintings use layers of multi media to build textural elements into the painting's surface, in order to further develop the organic quality of the moody landscapes.  Don works directly with clients to interpret the intentions and feelings that they want evoked in the paintings.  But the final product is a result of the creative process that happens spontaneously on the canvas.  Current paintings are available for purchase and Don also does commissions for custom abstract paintings.
